The Dystopia Challenge

This challenge is hosted by Dutchie at BA Reading Challenges. It's pretty simple, all you have to do is read as many dystopian novels - YA or adult - as you can before the year is up.

I've decided to start at the Contagion (15 books) level, but I expect I will read more. I just didn't want to set my level too high, just in case!

Read:
- Inside Out by Maria V Snyder
- Outside In by Maria V Snyder
- Delirium by Lauren Oliver
- Across the Universe by Beth Revis
- Divergent by Veronica Roth
- Wither by Lauren Destefano
- The Dark and Hollow Places by Carrie Ryan
- Enclave by Ann Aguirre
- The Legacy by Gemma Malley
- Glow by Amy Kathleen Ryan
- Dark Inside by Jeyn Roberts

Current Total: 12

My Possible List:

1. Feed by M T Anderson
2. 1984 by George Orwell
3. Matched by Ally Condie
4. Unwind by Neal Shusterman

  1. I'm thinking about doing this challenge but I'm not sure because I also want to do the YA Historical Challenge and I already signed up for the 2011 debut Challenge over at The Story Siren. What to do? Hmm...

  2. Hi Shannon :) I've tried to choose challenges that can overlap with each other for next year. I think all of mine could pretty much tie together in some way. The 2011 Debut Challenge may be able to do that if there are any YA Dystopian books coming out next year?

But obviously you won't be able to overlap with the Historical..

Why don't you sign up anyway, and choose the "Asocial" option? It's only five extra books, after all!

  3. Amber- You should definitely sign up for the 2011 debut challenge if you haven't already. There are a bunch of Dystopian Debuts coming out next year.

Here are a few you can look into:

    Wither by Lauren DeStefano
    XVI by Julia Kerr
    Divergent by Veronica Roth
    Enclave by Ann Aguirre
    Possession by Elana Johnson

    Hope that helps!

  5. Hi Shannon :) I'm already signed up for the Debut Challenge, but thanks for the ideas of what to read! I didn't know there were so many dystopian debuts coming out! This is brilliant :D

I'll probably have to order from Book Depository, because the UK is always so far behind the US book releases.

Thanks again, and I'll look into them now :D
