2013 Debuts I'm Looking Forward To
I'm really excited about this one, because it works well with my new feature, 2013 Debut Showcase, in which I talk about which debut novels I liked, disliked and am looking forward to. EEP! I can't wait to see which books everyone else lists. I have already read a few debuts for this year, so I made sure not to include those in this list.
1. Level 2 by Lenore Appelhans
This sounds so thrilling! And it's out today so YESSSSS. I'm gonna have to see if I can buy it for my Kindle.
2. Nobody But Us by Kristin Halbrook
I lurve contemporary novels, so I'm looking forward to this one mostly because of that. And the couple in this are on the run!
3. Dualed by Elsie Chapman
In this world, people have twins that they have to eliminate before their twentieth birthday. O.M.G.
4. City of a Thousand Dolls by Miriam Forster
I kind of just wanted this one because of the title and cover, but then I read that it's a fantasy about assassins.
5. Linked by Imogen Howson
This is about a girl who has visions about a secret twin sister. Mysterious, and intriguing!
6. The Nightmare Affair by Mindee Arnett
A literal Nightmare! I'm excited, since I've read about exactly ONE Nightmare before in YA.
7. Taken by Erin Bowman
This is set in a world where there's this city, and in this city all the boys are taken on their eighteenth birthdays and are never seen again. I can't wait to find out what's happening, and it reminds me a little of The Knife of Never Letting Go, in which there is a town with no women.
8. Reboot by Amy Tintera
This sounds AWESOME. It's about a girl who dies and comes back as a soldier, and is stronger and faster and has little emotional attachments.
9. The Dollhouse Asylum by Mary Gray
I don't really know how to summarise this one, but it sounds GREAT. Mysterious, thrilling, kinda creepy... and the cover is awesome. The trailer for this is coming out next month!
10. Triangles by Kimberly Ann Miller
This is set on a cruise ship, you guys! And it sounds really mysterious. I love psychological novels!
I'm definitely looking forward to Dualed and Linked. Both sound really great! Awesome picks!

ReplyDeleteI really want to read Nobody but Us, it sounds like a great read! I also don't read a lot of contemporaries and I really want to change that this year. I also can't wait to read Taken and Reboot. Great list!

ReplyDeleteI'm totally downloading Level 2 today as well! Super excited! It's gonna be my first debut read of the year!
There so many great futuristic/dystopian books coming out between Taken/Reboot/Dualed and they all sound like really awesome, unique concepts! I'm super excited.
I'll have to keep an eye on Nobody But Us, because the idea of a couple on the run sounds great!
