Despite the fact that I thought Revolution 19 was a fairly average read, I was still excited to check out the sequel. The ending of Revolution 19 opened up a lot of possibilities for the sequel, and I wanted to see where the characters could go next.  But Fugitive X was a book that I just couldn't get into, no matter how hard I tried.

It's probably best to jump straight into this, and tell you the reason that I stopped reading. Well, on page 13, "the most beautiful boy I've ever seen" showed up. Yeah. Page 13. After that, I knew this book would just be about the romance, like so many YA books are, so I must admit that I didn't try very hard to get into it.

I was very excited to read The Burning Sky, because I had heard great things coming from earlier reviewers. Everyone said that it was a fantastic fantasy novel with great world building to boot, but unfortunately I did not get the appeal.

My heart is broken, guys. I can't believe I just put down a Richelle Mead book. What has my life become? Anyway, I do have a few reasons for not being able to finish this one, and you'll find those below. To put it briefly, I didn't like it. To elaborate a bit more, I wasn't a fan of the characters. Which is awful because normally I am in love with at least a couple of Mead's characters in her books. I had two favourites in the Dark Swan series, and Vampire Academy was packed full of awesome characters. Agh, what happened with this one?

My issue with How My Summer Went Up in Flames is the main character, Rosie. I'm pretty sure most of you readers out there wouldn't be able to get into a book with a horrible main character. If I can't connect with the protagonist, there is little hope for me. Which is why I couldn't finish this one.
