Reid Alexander, Hollywood’s hottest young actor, is completely distracted. And this time it isn’t his latest co-star or a major new film role that’s demanding his attention but something far more life-changing... - Goodreads

My girlfriend hasn't told her parents about me.

After reading Good For You, the third book in this contemporary series, I was dying to get my hands on Here Without You so I could learn more about Reid. The summary on the back of the book is frustratingly vague, so I had no idea what to expect from this one. I certainly didn't expect it to affect me as much as it did, and I wasn't expecting to cry non-stop from page 20 onwards.

The third part of the Between the Lines story by the bestselling author of Easy sees hot teen screen idol Reid in deep trouble. When Dori, the community service supervisor who is determined to set him a good example, comes on the scene romance is the furthest thing from her mind. Or his. But there's something irresistible about Reid that not even good girl Dori can ignore . . . - Goodreads
My thoughts upon becoming fully conscious: first, shit, I'm in the hospital again, and second, how bad is the damage to my one-week-old Porsche?

Good For You is a book that I had both been dying to read, and very hesitant about. You see, I have a tendency to grow attached to characters, and I knew that Emma (the main protagonist from the first two books in this series) wasn't going to be the MC in this book. Instead, the focus is on Reid and his love interest, Dori.

This book caused me so much distress. I read it for the 24 Hour Read-a-Thon, and so I was basically reading non-stop until I finished. That meant that I powered through all of the drama, relationship stuff, and sad bits in just a few hours, and it left me mentally exhausted. There was so much going on in this book!

Young actress Emma is starring in her first ever major film role, opposite well-known teen heart-throb Reid. The exclusive clubs, snapping photographers and screaming fans are all a normal part of life for Reid but it's all new to Emma. The other actors befriend her - and Graham in particular seeks her out - but Emma isn't sure she's really comfortable in this scene. Reid is also experiencing something new - girls throwing themselves at him is an everday occurrence but genuinely falling for his co-star? That's not what he expected to happen . . . - Goodreads

Between the Lines was my first venture into the new world of New Adult. I had been meaning to pick it up for a while due to the number positive reviews I have seen around Goodreads and the book blogosphere, so when I was offered a copy to review I jumped at the chance.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Between the Lines. From what I had heard about the New Adult genre, I didn't have the highest hopes, since I was expected under-developed characters and plot in order to make way for sex and drugs and booze. Fortunately, my initial feelings were totally off, and Between the Lines was packed with great characters and interesting subplots.
