The meme Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Thanks for hosting this fun meme!
I don't take part in this meme every week, just when the question/topic strikes my fancy. This week's top ten is:
Top Ten Love Stories in Books
As usual, these are in no particular order (although I do, at the moment, have a HUGE soft spot for Alex/Brittany)
1. Jace Wayland/Clary Fray (The Mortal Instruments)
They've been through so much together in such a short space of time, I think it's amazing. If you've read the series then you'll know what I mean!
2. Trella/Riley (Inside Out)
Maybe it's because I thought Inside Out was a great novel, or maybe I truly do love these two - but I was rooting for them all the way!
3. Elizabeth Bennet/Darcy (Pride and Prejudice)
Need I say more?
4. Alex Fuentes/Brittany Ellis (Perfect Chemistry)
Gush gush gush! Words just cannot describe how much I love these two. The whole opposites attract love story really won me over. As did Alex! ;)
5. Patch/Nora (Hush, Hush)
Another forbidden love theme here. Yet they still manage to get through everything. Well, I think they do. We'll find out when we read Silence, won't we?
6. Hermione Granger/Harry Potter (HP)
Okay, so they were never really together, but I still 'shipped them. I much preferred these two than Harry/Ginny. Although, I also kinda 'shipped Hermione and Draco. Oops.
7. Damon Salvatore/Elena Gilbery (TVD)
I admit, I haven't actually read the books. *hangs head in shame* I did try, but I just couldn't get into them. However, the snippets I have read about Damon and Elena were awesome and I fell in love. The TV show starring Ian Somerhalder as Damon helped push me in the right direction, I think ;)
8. Dimitri Belikov/Rose Hathaway (Vampire Academy)
These are probably my number one couple right now, but this list isn't in any particular order - and I've only just discovered these two! I know, shame on me. They've been to hell and back for each other, and I honestly can't think of a better couple. I love love love them so much. I'm going to have to reread these books, because they're just so freakin' incredible!
At the moment I can only think of seven couples, but I'm pretty sure there are more! Maybe I'll add to this list later on. I actually have a feeling there is someone I'm missing out...
gee - more books to add to my TBR.. ;") Thank you! And have a great week!
ReplyDeleteNice choice :) I haven't read TVD books either, but apparently the shows are better than the books. I'm not so sure. Still, the show is my preference. The one and only that will ever happen :P
ReplyDeleteI love how popular Pride and Prejudice is this week! It's on my list too hehe

I'm always intrigued by the power of the relationships in P&P and GWTW. Some sort of odd combination of love and hate.

I'm a new follower!
I totally agree with #10!! Love Love Love the show but couldn't even get halfway into the book.
ReplyDeleteOops! I meant #6 :)
ReplyDeleteP&P also made my list. So did the Harry Potter series, although I highlighted Ron and Hermione
ReplyDeleteIrene - Haha, you're welcome! Thanks for stopping by :)
ReplyDeleteSteph - Thanks! I started to read the TVD books, but they were very bland and Elena was a horrible character. The show is amazing though :D
Laura - I expected P&P to be a popular choice. Darcy and Elizabeth are the best xD
Deb - Love/Hate stories often turn out to be the best! Thanks for following! :D
Mimi - Haha, thanks! The show is amazing. Damon/Elena FTW! Are you part of the forum? :)
Two Bibliomaniacs - I'm glad you agree with P&P ! I never really felt the love connection between Ron and Hermione for some reason. It seemed more of a great friendship to me (and of course, a slight crush). I didn't like Harry and Ginny either :(
ReplyDeleteI would just like to tell you how appalled I am by your Hermione and Draco ship. Never! I totally shipped Ginny and Draco! I <3 Darcy and Elizabeth though I've only read up to his letter after the proposal. Totally agree about Alex and Brittany!
ReplyDeleteI would have loved Harry and Hermione together as well. That scene in the new movie where they are dancing together wrenched my heart a little bit. I haven't heard of The Mortal Instruments but it sounds quite interesting!
ReplyDeleteGreat List!

ReplyDeleteHarry and Hermione are an interesting couple. They seemed an obvious pair at the beginning of the series, but I was more or less OK with how Rowling developed them.
ReplyDeleteI was also more interested in seeing Harry and Cho, but I guess if you don't show up in the first two books, you don't get to join the power trio.
Yeah Clary and Jace rock:)
