Debut Showcase: March 2014

The purpose of this feature is to show you guys which YA debuts I'm most looking forward to, and which ones I've enjoyed. Hopefully it'll also help build some buzz around some of these debuts. There will be one post at the beginning of each month showing all the debuts that are being released in that month. I'll also be linking to my reviews of debuts from the previous month so you can see which ones were a hit!

March Debuts
A Korean-American girl discovers a Korean demi-god. Consider me intrigued.
Alex has visions of the past, which I guess are her fifty six past lives coming through.
Teenagers somehow get transported to an island, and they have exactly one year to get off it or bad things will happen.
A girl loses her voice because she pledged it to a literal dream guy. Seriously, she only sees him in her dreams.
This is about the Spanish Flu!
I'm honestly not sure what this one's about. Someone called Harlow, something about leadership...
Heart (yes, that's her name) is invited to prom by two guys. However will she choose?
An American immigrant is struggling with life at university.
A girl who has leukaemia goes into remission, but not before she is a complete cow to everyone since she thought she was going to die.
Regan's father invented Elusion, something that virtually transports you to exotic destinations. Regan discovers lots of secrets and lies and stuff.
The main character lives in a trailer park and there's a serial killer and this has so much potential!
Which debuts are you looking forward to this month? Half Bad, right? A lot of the debuts that are out this month sound so good, especially Side Effects May Vary (although I'm steering clear of this one until I've heard other people's verdicts, because I don't like reading about cancer), and A Death-Struck Year.

  1. I'm looking forward to 57 Lives, Nil, and Half-Bad, but The Secret Side of Empty sounds really good and I hadn't heard of that one (so thanks!) ~Pam

    1. Nil was very good, although it could have used more explanation on certain things. I hadn't heard of The Secret Side of Empty before I started researching for this post, and I am actually really looking forward to reading it! I think it sounds great.

  2. Being a Korean, I am SUPER excited about Gilded! I hope the author did her research about the Korean side of things haha.
And omg Half Bad! I've unfortunately seen a lot of bad ratings for that book so my excitement has gone down a little bit, but I'm still quite excited about it- the premise sounds awesome :D

    1. Me too! Well, not that I'm Korean, but I'm very much looking forward to the book. I've been lucky so far and have only seen good things about Half Bad, so I'm DYING to read it!

  3. Half bad, I love witches! Nearly Gone sounds like it could be really good or really bad :p I've seen some negative buzz around Elusion lately, but I'm still interested. Ask again later is supposed to be good, so I might try it out. A death-struck year is SO my cup of tea :D And Gilded & Nil both have my interest.

  4. I'm really looking forward to Ask Again Later - from what everyone has been saying, it sounds like a book I'm going to love. Also, The 57 Lives Wayfare. :)

  5. I've been waiting for Side Effects for ages! And been hearing good things about Ask Again Later and Nil so looking forward to those. Nearly Gone looks awesome too. Too many gooduns this month!
