October Wrap Up and November TBR

The month of October started out really well, as far as reading goes. I read some amazing books in the beginning, and I was sure people would think I was crazy for rating most of them between four and five stars. Then, at the end of the month, things took a downward spiral, and I ended up really disliked the last two books that I read. But it's fine, November's going to be great, I can tell.

Also in October, I went to stay at Tatum's house, and she gave me a bunch of books and DVDs, and she made me cry over fanvids. True story. Back home, I managed to get almost all of my November posts prepared, written or scheduled, which is thrilling because I've always wanted to be this far ahead with my posts. I love having space in between reading a book and posting about it. EEP.

Another thing that happened is Epic Recs was made public. I know, I can't contain my excitement either. You can read more about it here, if you wish. I definitely encourage signing up, because Judith and I are having an amazing time forcing each other to read books that we love!

Here are the books that I read in October, along with the ratings. Mostly.
---
1. The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer (4/5)
2. Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson (5/5)
3. Locke & Key, Vol. 2: Head Games by Joe Hill (?/5)
4. Shift by Hugh Howey (3/5)
5. Endless Knight by Kresley Cole (2/5)
6. The Trap by Andrew Fukuda (?/5)
7. The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness (?/5)
8. Premeditated by Josin L. McQuein (?/5)
9: Twinmaker by Sean Williams (?/5)
10: The Uprising by Lisa M. Stasse (?/5)
My life has been forever ruined changed by this book. It gave me a complete breakdown, and not many books have done that in the past couple of months. I was crying so hard at the end that I got a nosebleed, and now I'm just depressed. Tiger Lily is absolutely beautiful, and I highly recommend that everyone gives it a go. I'm not even a huge fan of Peter Pan, and yet I adored this. Please, PLEASE give it a go, because Jodi Lynn Anderson has a) real fucking talent, and b) a really evil vendetta against me. You can read my review here.
I'm hoping to finish a bunch of books in November, most of them being either review copies or ones that people have recommended to me. I'm excited, because I think November is going to be AWESOME.

  4. Oh my gosh, you're scheduled that far ahead?? I admire you. A ton. I can get a week ahead and that's about it, but maybe when things start winding down a bit (it's midterm season at my school), I'll get a little more ahead. I'm totally with you on Tiger Lily (which, funnily enough, has no connection to my username). I cried SO HARD at the ending. It was really beautiful to see everything from Tinkerbell's POV. Anddddd you totally have some awesome books coming up in November. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on them!

  6. Looks like you've got an amazing list of books to read for this month! I've had Tiger Lily on my Kindle for quite some time now but I haven't gotten around to reading it just yet. I really need to get on that! Especially after what you said about it, and I'm a huge Peter Pan fan. I hope you enjoy all of your November reads! :)
