Book Blogger Hop and Follow Friday

Question
How did you come up with your blog name?

My answer to this is pretty boring. When I first started my blog, I didn't know it was going to turn into a book blog, and so I just posted the most random things. It was called 'Coconuts and Cream' back then. It's the first thing that popped into my head, to be honest.
But then, back in September, I stumbled across a couple of book blogs and I was simply amazed. I mean, who knew that people actually blogged about books, eh?
Of course, I couldn't go around blogging about books with a ridiculous, non book related name... and so I changed it to Books of Amber. That was another name that just popped into my head. I didn't want anything too out there, but I also didn't want a blog called 'Amber's Reviews'. So, here we are. (I told you it was a boring answer!)

Question
"Do you read only one book at a time, or do you have several going at once?"

I only read one at a time, but that doesn't mean that I don't leave books unfinished so that I can go back to them. Before I started blogging, I used to read a couple of books at a time, but now I can't do it. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because I finish books so fast now, I don't actually have time to pick up another book to read along with my current one! Although, I currently have five or six books that I started, but then put down again to read something else. I will pick them up again soon!

  4. I've always got a couple of books going! I feel like I need a backup, in case I finish one early, or in case I get bored of and decide not to finish a book.

  6. Hi, Happy Follow Friday! I'm a new follower.

Books of Amber sounds like the title of a book of paranormal romance or urban fantasy. It's pretty cool it just sort of happened into your mind!

Come find out how I choose my blog name!

  7. Hopping through. Coconuts and Cream is such a cute name, but Books of Amber is more fitting :-) And it reminds me of amber the gemstone/mineral.

  9. I pick up books and put them down as well, but that usually isn't a good thing for that book. It means I'm not feeling it and I'm only going to finish it because that's what I do.

But usually I only read one book at a time.

  10. New follower here!
I love your title: it's perfect! Your blog is gorgeous!
I read two or three books at a time: I have a kindle, and like to read one on it and one or two paper/hard backs.
    Have a great weekend!

  11. Not everyone can multi-task and nobody should. When it comes to book sure, I can't read four books simultaneously (or even two, for that matter!) but there are times I'll juggle as many as four books at a time depending on the subject matter, the urgency or more often both.

The real trick to this is what KINDS of books to juggle. Hop on over to my blog and learn the method behind my madness - http://www.howardshermannet
